Canadian Institute of Geomatics Futures Dialogues Series

The CIG can possibly be described as “a Grey-haired revolutionary with a record of 125 years of technology change, combining the tradition of frontier mapping and surveying, with technology revolutions, which transform society. The real challenge: can we continue to lead the next phase of the revolution? Or are we becoming merely adapters to change? To assist with this challenge CIG has started a continuous visioning and futures strategy initiative called: Geomatics Futures Dialogues. It is:

  • A continuous futures strategy and visioning initiative
  • Started at the 2005 Conference in Ottawa
  • Continues at the upcoming 125th year Celebration Conference in Toronto with a focus on Dist aster and Risk Management
  • From technology to practice/ business
  • Use of strategic architecture to summarize, visualize and analyses contributions by individuals or panels.
